In loving memory
Rebecca “Becky” Joyce Schlief
Of La Porte, Indiana, formerly of Effingham, Illinois · Died June 6, 2008, age 54
My mom
This is my mom, Becky. She raised four kids on her own. My sister Denise put it best:
She was always happy. She wanted to see everyone else happy before herself. She was amazing.
She worked 14 years at ThermoSafe, the last stretch of it at the plant in Michigan City. On June 6, 2008, she'd picked up an extra shift. That was the day we lost her.
I built this site, and I wanted her to have a place on it. Please take a minute to remember her with me.

The case
My mom died at work at the ThermoSafe plant in Michigan City, Indiana, on June 6, 2008. A few weeks later, authorities said they were re-examining her death.
More than eighteen years later, it is still an open death investigation, and we still don't have answers. Police have asked anyone who may have held back to come forward now. Even a small detail could matter.
